Anyways! Figured I should tell you a little bit about the guy Galway works for before getting down to plotting. The Dreamland Ballroom – the club where Galway works – is ran by three individuals commonly referred to as Management. They’ll conduct their business through Galway whenever they can both for comfort and security reasons, but they do step in themselves when necessary (i.e., when dealing with leaders of other gangs – like Alfie). The head of the operation is Saul Shapiro (PB Harry Lloyd in the Iron Lady) – a Jewish accountant from New York who’d moved to Atlantic City in light of the new business opportunities the Volstead Act presented. Other than running the club, which is obviously also a speakeasy, he (all of Management, but again – Saul is definitely the guy in charge) owns several distilleries across the States, but still imports most of his booze from Canada and Ireland (along with firearms from the latter).
Long story short: seeing as to how he’s Jewish and Galway is originally English, I figured the both of them could perfectly fit into Alfie’s canon plot (or at least the way it was in the beginning of the series?). If part of his side-business is to sell rum, Saul could be interested in buying from him – the both of them being Jewish would make Alfie more trust- and business-worthy than his competition, and Galway being English makes him the perfect candidate to oversee the transaction in England – maybe stick around for a longish while for whatever reason, I’m sure we can come up with something. Gives us the opportunity to explore different dynamics of community vs. country vs. a million different things and I feel like we could do some really interesting things with it. Sound like something you might be interested in doing?

And all your ideas sound great to me! Alfie's pretty tribal so he'd definitely be at least a little more trusting of (or just willing to give better deals to) a Jewish guy. Maybe Galway could have been sent to England for a longer period of time because they're all hoping to establish a solid/permanent alliance with Alfie & co., and they want him there overseeing things and making sure things are stable? I could easily come up with an excuse to have Alfie head across the ocean for a little bit and pay a visit to them in Atlantic City too, if you wanted to do some play in that setting.

I guess the obvious place for us to start would be when Galway first arrives in the UK? We could do some correspondence between Alfie and Saul first if you'd like, I love letter/telegram type threads - whichever you think works best!
Also, I'm not sure whether we want to get into the thick of plotting, or gauge things out first, the dynamic etc., then see what comes up from that. I also just realized I never provided you with writing samples, so here are a few, and here are some more.

As for writing samples, mine are... kind of all over this community, haha. I'm pretty chill as far as both tag speed and tag length go, especially in one-on-one PSLs that don't have any of the time limitations that come with group games - tagging several times a day is fine, once a day is fine, once a week or even longer is fine, it's all good. I'll do both shorter and longer tags in the same thread as needed, with scene-setting and action-heavy tags being meatier and tags that are just the characters sitting and talking being more dialogue-heavy, but really, I'm variable. I guess this would be the best writing sample to give for what we'd probably be doing? A lot of the other posts here are probably less relevant, because they're with one specific friend whose schedule overlaps with mine pretty well, so when we're on and tagging at the same time we shoot short, quick tags back and forth at each other (I don't know if Tumblr has a word for that style of play, but we call it "boomeranging" on DW) instead of doing longer ones less frequently. Shorter and quicker is more similar to my game play-style (because of the speed and size of games) than my one-on-one PSL play-style, so!

Two questions:
1. do you prefer the brackets style (as seen in the post you linked to) or the non-brackets style? I usually lean towards the latter but I 100% would not mind the former either.
2. do you mind if we start mid-correspondence for the Alfie/Saul letters? Introductions can get a little rehash-y sometimes and I find jumping into the middle of things helps.
Either way, as soon as we figure those things out, I'll be happy to write the starter! (Not sure if that's what it's called here? Introduction post? You get the gist.)

And journal-wise, however you want to do things is fine with me! I'll throw in some of Alfie's canonmates as NPCs (both ones that actually exist in canon and ones that I've made up/headcanoned over time) as needed, and most of them don't have their own journals or icons (though if one becomes a big enough part of the thread I might make one just for fun, because I like PB-hunting :P). Generally on DW we do the "every character gets their own journal" thing because unlike on Tumblr, we can register as many journals as we want to the same email address (as you can see from my huge list of journals in this post...), but more minor characters in a thread tend to be an exception to that. If you want to make a journal for Saul when he becomes a bigger part of the threads it'll be easier to than it would have been on Tumblr, but if you'd rather just stick with the one journal and use it for everybody that's also cool with me!
